Well, let me first start with this interesting gem of information! Did you know that the person who invented the delicious Portuguese chicken dish, Piri Piri chicken owns a restaurant in Guia on the Algarve?

The elderly gentleman’s name is Mr Ramires and his restaurant is simply called Ramires.  Ramires Restaurant is plain, nothing fancy or over the top.  The menu is short and to the point.  No messing around.  People go to Ramires to taste the real thing – proper Portuguese cooking, the way it should taste.  AND obviously their speciality is Piri Piri chicken!

Owen, Dirk, Llew and I went to this piri piri chicken restaurant dinner one night.  We had a delicious meal … Piri Piri Chicken of course!

We were on vacation during the low season so the restaurant wasn’t that full.  Had a glass of good local Portuguese wine with our tasty meal.  We highly recommend Ramires piri piri restaurant so next time you’re on vacation in the Algarve in Portugal drive west from Albufeira to the small village of Guia where you’ll find Ramires.  It’s near the old church.  Anybody in the village will be able to direct you to this great Piri Piri chicken restaurant.

Lifestyle change working from home

We really do have the best of both world you know!  Our lifestyle has changed dramatically since we started our online business working from home.  We take off on vacation whenever we fancy a change of scenery.  While on vacation we keep in touch with clients on the internet, it’s all so easy and civilised.

Sunshine and blue skies

Vacations in sunshine and blue skies

Well, we’re back from a wonderfully relaxing break in the Algarve, Portugal!

Oh, it was so lovely to feel the warmth of the sun on our skin and see blue skies!  We relaxed, caught up on reading, spoke to a few contacts on the internet, went for long walks and sampled lots of lovely Portuguese wine!  AND you will be impressed (I hope!) – we also went to the super gym!  How’s that for a commitment to good health?  I suppose it helped our conscience, we felt better and could indulge in the delicious local foods and wine without feeling guilty.

The resort which we stayed at was really nice.

next to the beautiful pool and there was the beach, RIGHT in front of our apartment!

Dirk and Llewella, my brother and sister-in-law, joined us on this holiday and we had a great time with them.  It worked out really well! It can be tricky with family but we all got on famously so I think they also enjoyed themselves.

We were in out of season so the seaside town was lovely and quiet.  Just our cup of tea!

We DO NOT DO crowds and drunk yobs!

We didn’t see our hear any of that fortunately.

Thanks to Primo, we’ve been able to invite my brother and sister-in-law to come with us.  I hope we don’t drive them mad!  We’re not joined at the hip, they are free to go off and do their own thing.  But we will obviously have a great time together as well.  We’re planning to relax, relax and relax!  That is what holidays are for, hey?

We’ll take in plenty of walks and the odd bit of running!  (Oh, yes, I said running!)  I have plenty of books to read, will snooze alot and do a spot of sight seeing as well.  A glass of red wine, cheese and crusty bread, mmm!

Hi again.

Kym, Steve and the kidlets  have just landed in New Zealand.  They’ve just left for almost a month’s vacation.  Wonderful!  They’ll be travelling around the South Island this time.  They visited the North Island when they went on their last New Zealand vacation.  

They just love visiting New Zealand, they love the quiet, relaxed environment.  It certainly sounds the sort of place Owen and I would like to visit and soon we’ll be able to afford luxury travel at a fraction of the cost because Primo Vacations is soon to be launched!

We’ve just returned from a wonderfully relaxing vacation in Little Haven in Pembrokeshire in West Wales.

Little Haven is a quaint little seaside village, quite well hidden down a meandering little road.  It’s not the sort of village with much passing traffic.  Because it was out of season when we were on vacation, Little Haven wasn’t heaving with tourists so we did find it lovely and quiet.  Little Haven doesn’t have a High Street jam packed with shops so even in the high season it wouldn’t be that busy.

We relaxed, caught up on our sleep, read alot, went for exhilerating walks and interesting drives to remote areas of Wales.  Wales really is a fascinating place, with a long and interesting history.  We highly recommend Pembrokeshire to other people wanting a pleasant break.

That’s the great thing about YNB – we can take time off whenever we feel like it.   We did take our laptop with us to keep in contact with the rest of the world and could have done some work if necessary!  But we didn’t do anything, sheer bliss it was!

On Saturday I returned from Qatar (a small independent state on the coast east of Saudia Arabia) where I had a wonderful holiday visiting my daughter Kym, Steve and kidlets.   Blake is growing up so quickly and baby Hunter is not such a small babe any more! He’s only 6 months old and is already wearing clothes 12 – 18 months!  He’s a healthy, contented baby and Kym is such a good little mummy, I’m so proud of her!

The weather was wonderful in Qatar, temperatures of 30 degrees c!  They certainly do have lovely winters… Qatar is a fascinating place and well worth visiting.
